Pakistan Railways has announced special Eid trains and discounted fares to help passengers travel easily during Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. This initiative aims to accommodate the large number of travelers heading home for the celebrations.

The newly-appointed Minister of Railways, Hanif Abbasi, has directed officials to ensure smooth and safe operations during the holiday rush. Extra trains will start running from the 25th of Ramazan to provide more travel options for passengers. Additionally, ticket prices have been reduced to make travel more affordable for everyone.

Abbasi emphasized that improving passenger safety is a top priority. He has instructed railway authorities to install modern surveillance equipment at key stations and on trains to prevent accidents and improve security. Efforts are also being made to enhance railway revenues while keeping costs low.

Pakistan Railways is also working on several infrastructure projects, including the ML-1 (Main Line-1) upgrade, which aims to modernize the railway system. The government is in talks with different countries to secure funding and technical support for this project.

In addition to better travel options, passengers may also get a long break for Eid. Reports suggest that Eid-ul-Fitr could bring up to six public holidays, allowing people more time to celebrate with their families.
