Pakistan Successfully Develops ‘Made in Pakistan’ Mobile Phone

Pakistan has introduced a new secure mobile phone made especially for government officials under a pilot project by the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC).

The device has been fully developed inside the country, with both its hardware and software created by local engineers.

The phone uses a special operating system that is different from normal smartphones. One of its main features is that it does not connect to the internet at all.

Because it stays offline, it cannot be hacked or accessed through cyberattacks. This makes it a safe option for officials who need to communicate confidential information.

The phone supports local SIM cards, but it does not work like regular mobile phones. It can only make and receive calls from other secure handsets of the same kind.

This closed communication system ensures that calls stay private and cannot be intercepted. The aim is to provide a protected channel for government departments dealing with sensitive tasks.

NTC officials say the project is part of a broader effort to improve digital security and reduce reliance on foreign technology. By developing the entire device within Pakistan, the government wants to protect important data and strengthen national cybersecurity.

This project also reflects the growing technical skills within the country. If the pilot phase goes well, more secure phones may be produced and new security features could be added.

For now, the phone is being tested by selected officials. Early responses show that it could become an important step toward safer communication across government institutions in Pakistan.
