Pakistan’s Boxer Muhammad Waseem Seeks Support After Visa Denial for World Title Fight

Renowned Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem, a two-time WBC silver champion, has encountered a significant setback as he was denied a European visa by Denmark, putting his upcoming world title fight in jeopardy.

The crucial bout, scheduled for October 4 in Malta, was set to see Waseem face South Africa’s Sabelo Ngebinyana for the World Boxing Federation Bantamweight Title.

Waseem, who has traveled extensively around the world and has been training in London, faced an unexpected obstacle when the Danish embassy rejected his visa application. This decision came after the embassy held his passport for 40 days, leaving him in a difficult position just weeks before the important fight.

This situation has prompted Waseem to call on the Pakistani government for support. He is appealing directly to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the army chief, asking them to intervene and assist in securing his visa so that he can compete in this pivotal match.

The rejection has cast doubt on Waseem’s participation in the fight, which is a key opportunity for him to claim another prestigious title in his boxing career. Waseem’s plea highlights the urgency of the situation as he seeks to overcome this obstacle and represent Pakistan on the world stage once again.
