Pakistan’s exports to the European Union (EU) have grown significantly, increasing by 14% during the first five months of the fiscal year 2024-25. According to official trade data, the total value of exports to the EU reached $4.8 billion, up from $4.2 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

The growth was particularly noticeable in November 2024, when exports to EU countries rose by 16%. They totaled $894 million, compared to $769 million in November 2023. Several key European markets contributed to this surge. For example, exports to Germany increased by 20%, while France and Belgium also saw significant growth. Other countries like the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy reported higher trade volumes with Pakistan.

In addition to the EU, Pakistan experienced growth in exports to the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and Afghanistan. However, exports to China declined by 14%, highlighting a contrast in performance compared to other regions. Despite this setback, the EU stood out as the strongest market for Pakistan’s exports, with only Oceania showing comparable growth during this period.

This growth in exports reflects Pakistan’s strengthening trade ties with the EU and the rising demand for Pakistani products in European markets.
