The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is preparing to launch a new drone technology unit at the Nowshera Police Training Centre, making it the first dedicated unit of its kind in Pakistan. The aim is to strengthen counterterrorism operations and improve security in sensitive areas.

This new unit will use different types of drones, including those designed for surveillance, field operations, and high-risk response. It will also be supported by anti-drone systems and jamming technology to protect against hostile drone activity.

Police personnel are receiving special training to operate this equipment, and advanced IT courses have been started for the first group of trainees. After training, drone teams will be stationed in several districts, especially in places where militant activity has been increasing.

The initiative is expected to work alongside existing security steps, such as the deployment of sniper squads, to create a more modern and effective policing system in the province.

This information is based on available reports. For complete details, please refer to official sources.
