Pakistan has successfully completed its pre-Hajj flight operation for this year. According to Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman, Secretary of Religious Affairs, more than 87,000 pilgrims have now reached Saudi Arabia under the government’s Hajj scheme. In addition, nearly 22,000 pilgrims traveled through private tour operators, making this a major milestone in Pakistan’s Hajj preparations.
The airlift is being finalized with five remaining flights departing from Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. These flights will bring the final group of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia before the main days of Hajj begin.
This year, several improvements were introduced to make the experience more comfortable for pilgrims. Special arrangements have been made for the Mashair days—when pilgrims travel between Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah—including the addition of sofa beds, air conditioning, and upgraded luggage racks.
Dr. Rehman also reminded all pilgrims to respect and follow Saudi laws throughout their stay, as their behavior reflects on Pakistan’s image internationally.
Meanwhile, in an effort to reach a global audience, Saudi Arabia has launched a special initiative to broadcast the Arafat Sermon in 35 languages. This move is aimed at spreading the message of Hajj to millions of people around the world.
