PCB Demands Evidence of Match-Fixing Allegations on Pakistan Team or Face Legal Action

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is demanding solid proof of match-fixing allegations against the national team, warning of legal action if evidence is not provided. This move follows the team’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024, which has sparked outrage among fans. Accusations of match-fixing have been widely circulated on social media and Indian media.

The PCB, standing firm in its belief in the integrity of players such as Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi, is insisting that accusers present concrete evidence to support their claims. The board has already issued legal notices and has threatened to file defamation suits under new Punjab laws if proof is not forthcoming.

The situation has created a climate of fear among the players, with some, including team captain Babar Azam, expressing reluctance to return to Pakistan due to safety concerns. The PCB has reassured the players that their safety is a top priority and has urged them to report any threats or security issues they encounter.

Despite the tension, the PCB is committed to protecting its players and maintaining the integrity of Pakistan cricket.

The board is also calling for calm among the fans and is working to address the root of the allegations to restore confidence and stability in the team. As the situation unfolds, the PCB continues to monitor the allegations closely, promising full protection to its players and taking necessary legal steps to safeguard their reputation.
