AThe All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association (APPPOA) has issued a stern warning of a potential nationwide shutdown if their concerns over commission rates and other operational challenges are not adequately addressed.
In an official letter addressed to Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, the association highlighted the mounting financial and operational pressures being faced by petrol pump owners across the country. According to the APPPOA, repeated attempts to engage in constructive dialogue with government authorities have so far failed to yield satisfactory results.
The association emphasized the urgency of immediate policy consultations, stressing that without timely intervention, there could be significant disruptions in fuel supply nationwide. This, they warn, may escalate into a broader fuel crisis affecting businesses, commuters, and essential services alike. Rising fuel prices, compounded by global market volatility, have further intensified the challenges confronting the sector, placing additional strain on both operators and consumers.
The APPPOA’s message reflects growing concerns within the industry and underscores the need for collaborative efforts between the government and petrol pump owners to maintain stability in Pakistan’s fuel supply.
