A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK-860, traveling from Jeddah to Lahore, experienced a serious in-flight issue shortly after takeoff when the cabin pressure suddenly dropped. This led to a shortage of oxygen inside the aircraft, creating a tense situation for passengers on board.

As a safety measure, oxygen masks were automatically released from the overhead panels. The cabin crew acted quickly and calmly, guiding passengers on how to use the masks and ensuring everyone remained seated and safe. Their timely response helped prevent panic and kept the situation under control.

The captain immediately assessed the situation and coordinated with air traffic control to divert the aircraft to Dammam Airport for an emergency landing. Thanks to the pilot’s professionalism and careful handling of the aircraft, the plane landed safely without any injuries reported.

After landing, passengers were provided with necessary assistance and facilities. Arrangements were later made for them to continue their journey to Lahore on an alternate flight. PIA confirmed that passenger safety remained its top priority and that all required support was given throughout the incident.
