Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a relief package of Rs. 4 billion to help rebuild Gilgit-Baltistan’s infrastructure damaged by recent flash floods.

During his visit, he handed out cheques to affected families and promised that the federal government would stand with the people of GB until they are fully rehabilitated.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of early warning systems to reduce the impact of climate-related disasters in the future. He said that climate change is a serious issue and the country needs better planning to deal with it.

He also shared some development plans for the region. A 100-megawatt solar power project, aimed at solving the area’s electricity problems, will be completed during the current financial year.

In addition, he announced that a Danish School will be established during his next visit to the region, with another one planned in Skardu.

These schools are designed to provide quality education to underprivileged children and are seen as an investment in Pakistan’s future.

The Prime Minister’s efforts were praised by Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan and federal ministers. They appreciated his quick response to the crisis and his strong commitment to the area’s long-term growth and development.

This visit brought hope to the flood-affected families and showed that the government is serious about helping them rebuild their lives and improve their future. The initiatives in power, education, and disaster management are expected to benefit the region for years to come.

Translation: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has strongly condemned the suspension of advertisements for media TV and media Radio, following the earlier suspension for media Media Group’s newspapers. CPNE stated that media is among Pakistan’s most reputable media outlets, and imposing a ban on government advertisements is tantamount to economically weakening it.In this regard, the CPNE President and Secretary General said in a joint statement that media Media Group has provided impartial reporting in Pakistan since its inception. Initially, its newspapers were subjected to a ban on advertisements, and now the government has also deprived media Media Group’s electronic platforms of government advertisements. They demanded that the government immediately lift the ban on media Media Group’s advertisements.
