Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid special tribute to three courageous shepherds from Gilgit-Baltistan who played a heroic role in saving their community from a deadly flood in the Ghizer district. Their bravery and timely action helped prevent what could have been a major tragedy.

According to reports, the shepherds noticed unusual signs and immediately raised an alarm, warning villagers about the approaching danger.

Thanks to their quick thinking, nearly 300 residents were able to evacuate before the floodwaters reached the area. Their efforts not only saved lives but also showed how ordinary citizens can become extraordinary heroes during times of crisis.

To recognize their bravery, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif awarded each of them Rs. 25 lakh. He described the shepherds as “true heroes of Pakistan” whose courage will always be remembered.

The Prime Minister further said that their act of selflessness is an example of how community awareness and vigilance can play a big role in disaster management.

In addition to honoring the shepherds, the Prime Minister assured that the government is working on strengthening early warning systems, especially in vulnerable regions like Gilgit-Baltistan, where floods and natural disasters pose frequent risks. He emphasized that such systems are vital to protect lives, property, and livelihoods.

This inspiring story highlights the importance of community responsibility and the power of quick action in emergencies.

It also reflects the government’s commitment to recognizing citizens who contribute positively to society and ensuring that future disasters can be managed more effectively with improved preparedness.
