Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday to review the destruction caused by heavy rains and flooding.

He carried out an aerial survey of the worst-hit districts to see the scale of the damage and understand the needs of the affected people.

The Prime Minister was joined by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who appreciated the continuous efforts of Pakistan Army troops working in the region.

He noted that soldiers are providing all possible assistance, from rescuing stranded families to delivering food and medical support in difficult-to-reach places.

Speaking during his visit to Buner, General Munir highlighted that the safety and well-being of citizens must remain the top concern.

He directed army units to perform their relief duties with full dedication and assured the public that the military would not hold back in helping those who have lost homes, livelihoods, and loved ones.

In addition to military efforts, the provincial government has stepped up its role in supporting communities.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced the release of an additional Rs. 2 billion to strengthen flood relief operations, including temporary shelter, clean water, food supplies, and rehabilitation work.

Authorities stressed that both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation are being taken seriously. Civilian and military institutions are working side by side to minimize suffering and bring life back to normal for flood-affected families.

The government assured people that every possible step is being taken to restore infrastructure, protect vulnerable groups, and provide timely updates on ongoing recovery efforts.
