Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a special Ramadan relief package designed to support families across Pakistan during the holy month of Ramadan. Under this initiative, each eligible family will receive Rs13,000, with the program expected to benefit approximately 1.2 crore families nationwide.
The relief package is specifically aimed at low-income households, helping them meet their essential needs and reducing financial pressure during a period of increased household expenses. By providing direct financial assistance, the government hopes to ensure that families can celebrate Ramadan with dignity and access basic necessities such as food, clothing, and household supplies.
This initiative reflects the government’s broader commitment to social welfare and community support. Officials have emphasized that the program is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the social safety net, promote economic stability for vulnerable groups, and demonstrate care for citizens during important religious and cultural occasions.
In addition to easing financial stress, the package is expected to have a positive impact on overall community well-being, allowing families to participate more fully in Ramadan traditions, charitable giving, and communal activities. The government has assured that the distribution process will be transparent and efficient, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.
