The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting thunderstorms and rainfall in Karachi starting from June 22 onwards.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has indicated that suburban areas of Karachi are likely to experience rain either on June 22 or 23. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to soar above 38°C in the region over the next three days.
Recent thunderstorms in Sindh, particularly in cities like Larkana, Shikarpur, Shahdakot, and Jacobabad, have provided much-needed relief from the scorching heat.
However, the heavy rainfall in Larkana caused disruptions in electricity supply, resulting in the tripping of 40 feeders operated by SEPCO. Larkana recorded a rainfall of 42mm overnight, with showers also affecting Shadadkot and nearby areas.
