Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) announced on Monday that Ruhail Mohammad was elected as Chairman of PSX’s Board of Directors after the demise of the former Chairperson, Dr Shamshad Akhtar.
The PSX shared the information in a notice today.
The notice said that Mohammad will serve the position for the remainder of the term of the Board, in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
As per information available on the PSX website, Ruhail’s career spans over 35 years in general management, business development, strategy, financial planning, and people development.
He has held various C-suite positions in companies focusing on a diverse range of activities from chemicals to energy. He is currently CEO of Lucky Electric Power Company Limited, a 660 MW IPP subsidiary of Lucky Cement.
Before this, he was CEO of Hub Power Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of HUBCO, Pakistan’s largest IPP.
Prior to HUBCO, he was the CEO of Engro Fertilizers from 2012-2018.
He has served on the Boards of Engro Corp, various Engro subsidiaries, K-Electric, NBP Funds, Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, British Overseas School, KP Energy Board (PEDO), and as Chairman of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited.
Former caretaker minister for finance and State Bank of Pakistan governor Akhtar passed away last month at the age of 70.
Meanwhile, the Board also considered the resignation of Dr Fakhara Rizwan from her position as Corporate Secretary and Chief Governance, Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer of PSX.
