The Punjab Government has decided to reduce court fees, following instructions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This change comes in response to concerns raised by both lawyers and citizens about the increasing cost of court services.

Chief Minister Sharif asked federal and provincial law ministers Azam Nazir Tarar and Sohaib Ahmed Bherth to work with relevant stakeholders to address the issue.

A high-level meeting, which included these ministers and several prominent legal experts, was held to review and approve the new fee structure.

Under the new system, the cost for certified copies of civil court orders has been reduced to Rs 100, high court orders to Rs 500, and each page to Rs 10.

Additionally, fees for review applications and other court-related services have also been lowered. This adjustment is intended to make access to justice more affordable and accessible for everyone.
