Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has shared some good news for Pakistan’s railway system. He announced that the Punjab government has agreed to give Rs. 350 billion to help improve and expand railway tracks across the province. He gave this update while talking to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways.

According to Abbasi, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz fully supports this plan. She wants to see better train services for the people and believes that a strong railway system will help the whole country move forward. This project is part of a bigger plan to modernize Pakistan’s railway network so that people and goods can travel more quickly and safely.

One of the main projects is the Main Line-1 (ML-1) which is a huge upgrade of the railway line from Karachi to Peshawar. The ML-1 project will cost about $6.8 billion. Once it is done, trains will be able to run faster, saving people a lot of travel time. It will also help businesses move their goods faster, which can help Pakistan’s economy grow.

Another important part of this project is better links with other countries, especially those in Central Asia. This means Pakistan will be able to trade more easily with its neighbors, opening up new business and travel opportunities.

The government hopes that with this big investment, Pakistan Railways will become stronger, safer, and more modern, making travel easier for everyone in the years to come.
