The sighting of the new moon for the Islamic month of Rajab is being carefully observed, as it helps give an early idea about when the holy month of Ramadan may begin. Many people follow these updates closely to prepare in advance for fasting and religious activities.

According to astronomers, the Rajab crescent is expected to be visible in some parts of Africa and South America. However, the chances of seeing the moon are very low in several Arab capitals and nearby regions due to weather and viewing conditions.

If the moon is sighted and Rajab begins on December 21, it would place the start of Ramadan at roughly two months from now. Still, the exact date of Ramadan cannot be confirmed at this stage. The final decision will be made by official religious authorities in each country based on local moon sighting announcements.
