Saif Ali Khan’s team has confirmed he is in surgery and asked for privacy during recovery.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalised after being attacked in his Mumbai home during an attempted burglary.

The 54-year-old star, known for his roles in films like Race, was reportedly stabbed six times by an intruder who broke into his residence in Bandra around 2:30 am local time.

According to police, the attacker fled the scene before authorities arrived. The case is currently under investigation.

Saif Ali Khan was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

The actor’s wounds included two deep stab wounds, one of which was dangerously close to his spine.

Hospital officials confirmed that the extent of the damage would only be clear after the surgery.

Saif Ali Khan’s children, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan, were seen arriving at the Lilavati Hospital.

Saif Ali Khan’s team issued an official statement, saying: “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. We will keep you updated on the situation.”

An insider revealed that the incident unfolded around 1:00 am when a nanny in the house spotted the intruder with a knife.

She alerted others, including Saif Ali Khan, who reportedly intervened to protect his family. The attacker then turned on Saif Ali Khan, stabbing him before fleeing the scene.

Saif Ali Khan’s family has also released a statement, urging privacy during this time. “It is a police matter, and we request the media and fans to be patient as we await updates,” the statement read.

The actor’s hospitalisation has sent shockwaves through Bollywood, with many fans and celebrities offering support. As of now, Saif Ali Khan’s condition remains critical, though updates are expected following the surgery.

The police are continuing their investigation into the break-in and are working to track down the assailant.
