The government of Saudi Arabia has announced a new rule that bans sick individuals from participating in the Hajj pilgrimage, stating that only those who are healthy and physically fit will be allowed to perform the sacred journey. This decision was communicated through a health advisory issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which was also shared with Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs.According to the advisory, pilgrims who suffer from serious illnesses will not be permitted to travel for Hajj in 2025.

This precautionary measure is being implemented to protect the health and safety of all pilgrims, especially considering the extreme weather conditions that can be encountered during the pilgrimage. The Saudi government has emphasized the importance of good health and physical fitness for anyone planning to undertake Hajj. This new rule underscores their commitment to ensuring that pilgrims are able to complete the religious journey safely and without unnecessary health risks. By prioritizing the well-being of the participants, Saudi Arabia aims to create a safer and more manageable pilgrimage experience for all involved.
