“Saudi Arabia Recognizing Isr@el would be an Honor for Me,” U.S. President Donald Trump

During a visit to Saudi Arabia, former U.S. President Donald Trump called on the Kingdom to officially recognize Israel. Speaking at the Investment Forum in Riyadh, Trump said that it would be a great personal honor for him if Saudi Arabia decided to take this step.

Trump shared that it is his strong hope, wish, and dream to see Saudi Arabia join the Abraham Accords — a set of agreements that have already led to normalized relations between Israel and several other Arab nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan.

These agreements were signed during Trump’s presidency and are seen as one of his key foreign policy achievements.

By encouraging Saudi Arabia to join the accords, Trump believes it would help bring greater peace and cooperation to the Middle East. He also said that such a move would be an important step in strengthening ties between nations in the region and creating new opportunities for economic and political partnerships.

So far, Saudi Arabia has not officially recognized Israel, but recent reports suggest that discussions have taken place behind closed doors. Trump’s public remarks may be aimed at increasing pressure on Saudi leaders or signaling ongoing support for the Abraham Accords in hopes that more countries will follow.

Trump’s speech was received with interest, as Saudi Arabia plays a key role in the region. Whether or not they choose to normalize relations with Israel could have a major impact on the future of Middle Eastern diplomacy.
