His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, met a group of national ambulance professionals of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS).
Attended by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the meeting took place at Al Mudeef Majlis in Union House.
Sheikh Mohammed engaged with the group, which included emergency doctors, paramedics, and advanced emergency medical technicians who recently graduated from the Emergency Medicine Programme conducted by the Dubai Government.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed said that national professionals play a crucial role in building a bright future for the UAE and advancing the nation’s competitiveness in vital sectors of the economy.
“Their contributions are key to advancing the country’s sustainable development and delivering the benefits of economic growth to citizens and society,” he said.
Sheikh Mohammed praised the DCAS team for their efficient handling of various emergencies and their commitment to maintaining the highest global standards.
He expressed pride in the outstanding efforts of national professionals in developing the emergency medicine system and integrating international best practices.
“Their commitment to delivering high-quality ambulance services supports Dubai’s strategic objective to provide advanced and accessible medical care and establish the city as one of the world’s best places to live and work,” he said.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the Corporation’s initiatives to train and attract national talent. Currently, 102 national paramedics and advanced emergency medical technicians, and five emergency doctors, hold specialised positions within the organisation.
Sheikh Mohammed also met Emirati professionals who made exceptional contributions to Operation Chivalrous Knight 2, the UAE’s aid initiative aimed at assisting victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Türkiye last year.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Mishal Abdulkarim Julfar, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, about the organisation’s achievements in building an effective emergency medicine system.
Julfar is a graduate of the first cohort of the Emergency Medicine Programme and the Dubai Leaders Programme, both launched by Sheikh Mohammed.
During the meeting, the DCAS team stressed their commitment to achieving the highest standards of health and ambulance care in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and the directives of Sheikh Hamdan to deliver world-class services in the sector.
The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services achieved third place in the 2023 Dubai Government Customer Happiness Index with an impressive rate of 96.1 per cent.

As part of its efforts to meet the needs of Dubai’s growing population, the Corporation has expanded the total number of ambulance points operated by it across Dubai to 135. In 2023, the Corporation responded to more than 235,000 emergency call-outs, achieving a record average response time of 7.5 minutes, a 13 percent improvement from 2022 figures.
