The General Women’s Union (GWU) has announced that the fourth cohort of participants in the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Women, Peace and Security initiative will participate in specialised Artificial Intelligence (AI) training.
This initiative, in partnership with Khalifa University of Science and Technology, aims to ensure that women are equipped with cutting-edge skills to keep pace with global technological advancements.
The training programme, which continues through September, aims to strengthen women’s roles in peace and security, build networks among women in military and peacekeeping fields, and boost their representation in these critical sectors.
Noura Al Suwaidi, GWU Secretary-General, highlighted the importance of aligning with Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak’s (Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of GWU, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, vision to empower women both in the UAE and internationally.
Noura Al Suwaidi emphasised that Sheikha Fatima has always been a strong advocate for the advancement of women, as seen in her ongoing efforts to build their capacities and enhance their skills.
The AI training sessions are designed to provide participants with valuable insights into using advanced technologies responsibly and effectively, preparing them to foster digital literacy and social responsibility within their communities.
Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, noted that as technology evolves rapidly, it’s crucial for different sectors to collaborate in raising awareness and ensuring the safe and effective use of AI for the benefit of society.
