KARACHI: Global and domestic silver prices continued to new highs while gold gained notable values on Saturday – both followed an international upward momentum, traders said.

Tracking a global rise, domestic silver prices drove to fresh all-time highs of Rs6,987 per tola and Rs5,990 per 10 grams, up by Rs139 and Rs119,respectively, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.

On the international front, silver prices touched new highs of USD67.15 per ounce, up by USD1.39 while gold value grew by USD13 to USD4,338 per ounce, it cited.

Local gold prices surged by Rs1,300 and Rs1,115, reaching Rs456,162 per tola and Rs391,085 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association.

It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially fixed by the association.
