The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has announced a holiday for all schools across the province on Saturday, January 17, 2026, due to the religious occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.

According to an official notification issued on January 13, the decision was taken in line with a resolution approved by the Sub-Committee of the Steering Committee on Education in November 2024. The holiday will be observed by both public and private educational institutions that fall under the administrative control of the department.

The notification clearly states that all schools will remain closed on the mentioned date. Education authorities have been directed to strictly follow the instructions and ensure proper implementation of the holiday across Sindh.

To avoid any confusion, the notification has been shared with district education offices and other relevant government departments so that the decision is enforced smoothly throughout the province. Parents, students, and school administrations have been advised to take note of the closure and plan accordingly.
