The Government of Sindh has suspended Professor Azhar Shah, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University’s Dadu campus, following the circulation of several videos on social media in which he allegedly appeared to be intoxicated. In the footage, he was also seen using inappropriate language and reportedly disrupting routine academic activities, prompting widespread concern among students, faculty members, and the public.

The videos quickly gained attention online, sparking criticism and raising questions about administrative conduct and professionalism within the institution. In response to the growing controversy, the provincial authorities took swift action.

Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, confirmed the suspension and stated that the decision was made in order to safeguard the integrity and reputation of Sindh University. He emphasized that maintaining discipline, decorum, and a respectful academic environment is essential, and that any behavior undermining these standards would not be tolerated. The minister further assured that appropriate measures were being taken to address the matter in accordance with the law and institutional policies.
