Sri Lankan shares rose on Friday and notched their first weekly gain in four.
The CSE All Share index gained 4.70% this week, rebounding from last week’s 5.4% decline – its worst in over three years.
The index closed 0.22% higher on the day, at 22,508.26. Industrial Asphalts and Autodrome were the top two percentage gainers, rising 25% each.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index slumped to 76.8 million shares from 170.8 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover dropped to 3.03 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($9.81 million) from 5.55 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 184.4 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.91 billion rupees, the data showed.
