Sri Lankan shares close higher on boost from IT, industrial stocks

Sri Lankan shares advanced on Wednesday, boosted by information technology, industrials and financials stocks.

The CSE All-Share index settled 0.33% higher at 23,659.7 points.

Sathosa Motors and Abans Finance were the top percentage gainers on the benchmark index, rising about 25% each.

Trading volume on the CSE All-Share climbed to 190.4 million shares from 223.1 million shares in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover rose to 7.24 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($23.91 million) from 8.22 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 277.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 7 billion rupees, the data showed.
