Sri Lankan shares rise as utilities, energy stocks jump

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Wednesday, led by utilities and energy stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 0.15% at 21,959.05

Autodrome PLC and Renuka Foods were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 25% and 22.5%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index jumped to 147.2 million shares from 102.3 million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover rose to 4.10 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($13.3 million) from 2.56 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 391.3 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 4.04 billion rupees, the data showed.
