The actor clarified she meant the Cabinet Division sometimes overlooks deserving artists for the Presidential Awards.

Veteran Pakistani actress Fazila Qazi has issued a clarification regarding her recent comments on the Presidential Awards.

A few days ago, Fazila, along with her husband and fellow actor Qaiser Nizamani, appeared as a guest on a private TV channel’s show.

During the program, the couple discussed the process of awarding the Presidential Awards in response to a question from the host.

Fazila had remarked that the authorities responsible for granting these awards often overlook hardworking artists, claiming that the awards are given based on favoritism and connections rather than merit.

She sarcastically added that she was thankful her husband received the award during a time when the recognition was based on the artist’s actual work rather than influence.

However, following the episode, Fazila’s comments went viral on social media, drawing criticism. In response, the actress took to her official Instagram account to clarify her statement.

In her post, Fazila explained that her words were taken out of context and misinterpreted online.

She clarified that what she meant was that the Cabinet Division sometimes fails to recognize artists who truly deserve the Presidential Awards.
