A test of a new firewall in Pakistan is causing social media to slow down, raising concerns for online businesses. Officials have confirmed that the trial run of this firewall is the reason for the slowdown. They have assured everyone that internet traffic will return to normal once the trial is over.

The government has set aside over Rs30 billion in the development budget to buy and install this filtering system. Although this budget is assigned to the Ministry of Information Technology, the system is mainly managed by another authority. This situation has made many people worried about the future of internet-based businesses in Pakistan. Business owners are concerned that if such measures continue, it could affect their operations and profits.

The government is trying to balance the need for online security with the smooth functioning of internet services. As the trial continues, all eyes are on how it will impact the digital landscape in Pakistan. The hope is that once the testing phase is complete, any disruptions will be resolved, and the internet will work efficiently again. Until then, businesses and individuals are bracing themselves for possible changes in their online activities.
