Trump’s Envoy Requested Elon Musk to add Pakistan in List of Places that Need Starlink

Richard Grenell, the former U.S. ambassador to Germany and special envoy for peace talks, has asked Elon Musk to expand Starlink internet services to Pakistan. Grenell, who is also President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for special missions envoy, made the request in a tweet. His message quickly gained attention, receiving over 2.7 million views.

Grenell’s appeal could speed up the process of bringing Starlink to Pakistan. However, official government approval is still needed. Earlier today, Shaza Fatima, Pakistan’s Minister of State for IT, announced that Starlink Internet Services Pakistan has applied for a license to operate in the country.

Despite the application, Starlink’s progress is stalled because the company isn’t registered with Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP). This lack of registration has made the approval process more complicated.

Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, aims to provide high-speed internet access worldwide, especially in underserved areas. If approved, it could revolutionize internet connectivity in Pakistan, bringing reliable service to remote regions.

Grenell’s push highlights the growing demand for advanced internet solutions in Pakistan. With Starlink’s application in process and increased public interest, there’s hope for better connectivity in the near future.
