Turkey, Indonesia and Malaysia Confirm Ramadan Start From Thursday, Feb 2026

Turkey, Indonesia, and Malaysia have officially confirmed that the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH will begin on Thursday, 19 February 2026. The decision came after religious authorities announced that the crescent moon, which marks the start of the month, was not visible on Tuesday evening. Each country relied on traditional moon-sighting practices as well as modern astronomical observations to accurately determine the beginning of the fasting month.

With the start of Ramadan approaching, Muslims across these nations are making preparations for a month of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion. During Ramadan, believers fast each day from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food and drink while focusing on prayers, charity, and personal growth. Communities also come together for collective worship, breaking fasts together during iftar, and participating in acts of kindness. The month is regarded as a time to strengthen faith, family bonds, and social harmony, making it a deeply meaningful period in the Islamic calendar.
