Two individuals sustained medium to major injuries in a four-vehicle pileup on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred due to the failure of the drivers involved to maintain a safe distance between their vehicles.
A report was received at the Sharjah Police Operations Room about the incident that took place on Emirates Road. The relevant police teams and the National Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene, where it was determined that a woman had sustained medium injuries while a man was gravely injured. They were subsequently transferred to the hospital for further treatment.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Mundhari, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department, posited that the root cause of the accident was the failure to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. He underscored that inattention to the road and insufficient distance are the primary factors contributing to such calamitous incidents, which can result in significant human and material losses.
