The highest temperature recorded in the UAE on Tuesday afternoon was 50.8°C in Al Shawamekh in Abu Dhabi at 14:45 and in Sweihan in the city of Al Ain at 15:45 UAE local time, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The centre indicated that the heat wave currently affecting the Arabian peninsula moved to the UAE and raised temperatures by two to three degrees in the desert, inland and coastal areas. The wave will continue for 5 days, NCM indicated.
NCM pointed out that the extension of the thermal depression currently happening in the southwest of the Saudi region, caused flow of hot air through the Empty Quarter into some areas in the UAE, resulting in a rise in temperatures during the period from Tuesday and for the next 5 days, and some southern and eastern regions will experience a rise in temperatures during this period.
