Understanding the Impact of Temperature on Photovoltaic (PV) Module Efficiency

Temperature is often the unsung factor that significantly influences the efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) modules. While solar panels are built to capture sunlight, there’s a catch—elevated temperatures can actually decrease their performance. But do you know the optimal operating temperature for PV modules?

The ideal temperature for most PV modules is around 25°C (77°F), which serves as the standard testing condition. However, in real-world scenarios, particularly in hotter climates, temperatures frequently surpass this, causing a decline in power output. The extent of this drop depends on the module’s temperature coefficient.

Take, for example, the Huasun Heterojunction (HJT) module. With a temperature coefficient of just -0.24%/°C, it loses only 0.24% of its efficiency for each degree above the optimal 25°C. This means Huasun HJT modules maintain higher efficiency compared to traditional PERC and TOPCon modules, especially in warmer conditions.

Looking to maximize your energy output? You can conveniently order from our distributor, AE Solar, for local deliveries or reach out to us directly for large-scale project inquiries. #RanaFarhan #RanaAbbas #Huasun #AE Power

Curious about what exactly the “temperature coefficient” means for your solar investment? Stay tuned as we delve into this crucial factor next!
