In the UAE, non-Muslim volunteers are working alongside fasting Muslims to distribute 1,000 iftar meals daily in labor camps. This effort is part of the #GoodnessBus initiative by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). The campaign aims to provide 150,000 meals by the end of Ramadan.
Volunteers come from various backgrounds, including teachers, office workers, and professionals. After their work hours, they dedicate their time to delivering food to laborers in areas like Jebel Ali and Al Quoz. Their contributions ensure that workers, who may not have the means to prepare iftar, receive a proper meal to break their fast.
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surour emphasized that this initiative is about more than just providing meals—it promotes compassion, kindness, and social responsibility. By coming together, people from different faiths and cultures strengthen the bonds of unity within the community.
