A young Emirati man was killed and others sustained injuries following a road collision between two vehicles on the route connecting Thamrit to Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate of Oman on Wednesday.
Following the completion of investigative procedures conducted by the Royal Oman Police and facilitated by the UAE Embassy in the Sultanate, the body of the deceased, Mohammed Al Derai, was airlifted from Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah to Dubai. This was done in preparation for the subsequent burial procedures.
The impact of the collision resulted in a ‘trapped’ situation at the accident site in Seih Al Khayrat in Thumrait, with two Omanis seriously hurt while another had a moderate injury.
