Pakistan secured a thrilling victory against England in the second Test match held in Multan, breaking a 12-Test winless streak on home soil. The win marks Pakistan’s first home Test victory in three years, with a final winning margin of 152 runs.

England, chasing a target of 297 runs, struggled on the spin-friendly pitch. Pakistan’s spinners, Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan, were relentless, with Nauman taking five wickets and Sajid claiming four in the final innings.

Their efforts dismantled England’s batting lineup, dismissing key players like Joe Root and Ben Stokes early in the innings. England was bowled out for just 144 runs, falling well short of the target.

Pakistan’s first innings saw them post a solid 366 runs, with Kamran Ghulam contributing an impressive 118. In response, England managed only 291. In the second innings, Pakistan set England a target of 297 runs by scoring 221.

The Multan pitch, known for aiding spinners, played a significant role in Pakistan’s success, with all 20 English wickets falling to spin across both innings. Nauman and Sajid’s combined efforts broke a 52-year-old record, becoming the first spin duo to take all 20 wickets in a Test match for Pakistan.

The victory not only leveled the series 1-1 but also gave Pakistan a much-needed boost ahead of the third and final Test match scheduled for October 24 in Rawalpindi. This victory will be remembered as a historic moment in Pakistan cricket.
