Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the consultant for the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team, a move aimed at strengthening the squad with his international experience and cricketing insight.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the appointment as part of its broader plan to enhance the women’s team’s performance, professionalism, and global competitiveness.

Wahab, celebrated for his fiery pace and aggressive bowling during his international career, brings with him a wealth of experience from years of representing Pakistan in major tournaments, including World Cups and international leagues. His understanding of high-pressure situations and strategic game planning is expected to play a vital role in mentoring players.

As a consultant, Wahab will guide the team on both the technical and mental aspects of the game, helping players sharpen their skills, improve consistency, and build confidence. His mentorship aims to create a more balanced and resilient side capable of competing strongly on the world stage.

The PCB believes that Wahab’s inclusion will not only boost the team’s on-field performance but also inspire young female cricketers across the country.

With several international tournaments ahead, his appointment signals a renewed focus on developing women’s cricket and ensuring Pakistan continues to progress in the global arena.
