“We Can Still Hear Their Voices, But We Don’t Know Where They Are,” Myanmar Earthquake Rescue Worker

A powerful earthquake has struck Myanmar, causing massive destruction. Buildings have collapsed, roads have cracked open, and thousands of people have been left terrified, running for safety. The disaster has taken the lives of more than 1,000 people, and over 2,400 others have been injured. Many are still trapped under the rubble, calling out for help as rescue workers struggle to reach them.

One of the worst-hit areas is Mandalay, where the destruction is severe. In the Sky Villa Condominium, more than 90 people are believed to be buried under the ruins of the collapsed building. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to find survivors, but they are facing serious challenges. The fallen buildings and debris make it difficult to reach those in need, and there is a shortage of heavy equipment to clear the rubble.

A Red Cross official at the scene described the desperate situation. “We need large machines to remove the debris,” he said. “We can still hear voices coming from under the rubble, but we don’t know exactly where they are.”

Emergency responders are doing everything they can to save lives, but time is running out. The authorities are urging people to stay strong as they continue their search and rescue efforts. Families are anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones, hoping for miracles amid the devastation.
