Wrong Philips? Electronics Giant Trolled After Glenn Phillips Catch out Virat Kohli in IND vs NZ Champions Trophy Clash

In Virat Kohli’s 300th One Day International (ODI) match, there was a memorable moment during the India vs New Zealand game in the 2025 Champions Trophy. New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips took an incredible one-handed catch that sent Kohli back to the pavilion after he had scored just 11 runs.

However, a funny mix-up happened on social media. Some of Kohli’s disappointed fans, upset about his dismissal, mistakenly directed their anger at the electronics brand Philips instead of the cricketer Glenn Phillips. They posted negative comments and complaints, thinking the brand was somehow involved. After some time, people realized the confusion and started to explain the mistake, helping clear things up.

In the match, India managed to score 249 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Shreyas Iyer stood out with a solid performance, scoring 79 runs. On the New Zealand side, bowler Matt Henry had a great day, taking 5 wickets for just 42 runs.

Both India and New Zealand had already secured their places in the semifinals of the tournament. This match was particularly important because it would decide which team would lead Group A heading into the next stage.
