HOROSCOPES IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

Keep a tight hold on reality over the coming year, because there will be times when if you allow yourself to get caught up in other people’s fantasies you could end up miles away from where you need to be. Follow your instincts, not the herd.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Don’t waste time trying to explain your ambitions to friends and loved ones because it’s unlikely they will understand why you feel so driven to succeed. Instead, channel your energy, both physical and mental, into moving closer to your No. 1 objective.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

Try not to take what other people tell you too seriously today as they have almost certainly got it wrong and will lead you astray if you believe them. Neptune, planet of illusion, warns that someone you see as a friend could see you as their meal ticket.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

It’s not like you to be irritable but because you feel tied down by other people’s expectations you may be a bit ill-tempered today. Maybe you should review all the things you do for partners, loved ones and colleagues – and then start doing less.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

The sun in the work area of your chart encourages you to push yourself harder but you must realize there are limits to how much you can do. Quality work is, was and always will be preferable to quantity work, so make good use of your brain!

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Listen to what a friend or loved one has to tell you today but don’t accept it as the last word on the matter. There is a very real possibility that they have been misled by other people and are now passing on that unreliable information to you.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

Mars in the most sensitive area of your chart could lead to all sorts of strange imaginings between now and the end of the week. Have you thought of taking some of those ideas and creating something of value such as a song or a book?

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

The fact that many of your friends are doing stupid things at the moment does not mean you have to follow their lead. On the contrary, try being smart and doing the opposite of what they are up to. You may be the only one who succeeds.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

You don’t have to push yourself harder than ever. You don’t have to test your limits. You may be under a lot of pressure to deliver but how much of that pressure comes from other people and how much from yourself? Lighten up a bit.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

While Mercury is moving retrograde you need to make a conscious effort to see the good in the world rather than the bad which is so much easier to spot. On a personal level no one has got it in for you, despite what you seem to believe.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

There is no such thing as a sure thing and anyone who tells you otherwise is not to be trusted. Usually you would not have to be reminded of that fact but your thinking does seem a bit vague at the moment. Time to sharpen up!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

Don’t let friends and loved ones pressure you into doing something you suspect won’t be for the best. You may want to please them but your first responsibility is to your own wellbeing, so if the situation troubles you just say No!

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Because Mars in your opposite sign is moving retrograde you could be a little too reckless in one-to-one situations. Try not to see everything you do in terms of winning and losing. There is no shame in offering your opponent an honourable draw.
