According to experts, the Zilhaj 1446 moon is expected to be visible in Pakistan on the evening of May 28, 2025. If this happens, then May 29 will be the first day of the Islamic month of Zilhaj, and Eid ul Adha is likely to fall on June 7.

The moon will be born on May 27, but it is unlikely to be seen that evening. This is because the moon will still be very young and the time between sunset and moonset will only be about 37 minutes. This short window makes it hard for the new moon to be seen with the naked eye.

Experts say that the visibility of the crescent depends on a few key factors. These include how old the moon is, how far it is from the sun, its height in the sky at sunset, and how clear the weather is. If the sky is cloudy or dusty, the moon may not be visible even if all other conditions are met.

Religious authorities in Pakistan usually rely on actual moon sightings to confirm the beginning of Islamic months.

So, while science gives us a good estimate, the official start of Zilhaj and the date of Eid ul Adha will be confirmed after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets and receives reports from across the country.
