Zong, Pakistan’s leading digital innovation company, has received “Profound Appreciation for upholding the highest standards of services” award from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) for its outstanding support to Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj 2025. The award was presented at a ceremony in Makkah as part of a special recognition program led by the Coordinator of Makkah and his team from the Pakistan Hajj Mission, honoring key contributors to this year’s successful Hajj operations.

As part of its strategic partnership with MoRA, Zong enabled seamless connectivity for over 90,000 Government Scheme Hujjaj through its specially designed Hajj 2025 international roaming bundle. The package included free SIMs, 240 international minutes, 60 SMS, 2GB of WhatsApp data, and 10GB of unrestricted data allowing pilgrims to stay in touch with their families throughout their spiritual journey.

Zong’s efforts were acknowledged specifically for its provision of international roaming services to pilgrims and its satisfactory delivery of telecom support during Hajj 2025. In addition to robust network services, Zong provided real-time in-app tracking, a dedicated helpline, and on-ground assistance via service kiosks across key locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ensuring that help and connectivity were always within reach.

Khurram Ishaq, Head of LDI & International Business at Zong, shared: “Supporting Hajj pilgrims on such a meaningful journey is a responsibility we take seriously. At Zong, we see connectivity as a vital companion on this sacred journey, enabling presence, peace of mind, and connection with loved ones even across borders. Our goal was to deliver uninterrupted connectivity, ease of communication, and dependable assistance throughout. This recognition from the Ministry reflects the success of our team’s commitment and the impact of our services on the ground.”

This recognition reinforces Zong’s mission to lead with innovation and serve Pakistanis at home and abroad through advanced, reliable digital solutions.
