Statistics from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation revealed that the number of confidential complaints submitted by workers to demand their rights from January to December of last year (that is, within 12 months) amounted to 241,597 complaints, indicating that there were 104 dedicated centers to guide and educate the workforce.
The Ministry explained, through the Labour Market Observatory, that it provides 22 languages through which the Legal Consultation and Labour Claims Center services are provided, and the average time taken to resolve customer requests is 3 days.
The Ministry explained that the labour complaint is made by entering the worker’s personal data such as the passport number, name, date of birth, and nationality through one of the service portals.
The Ministry stated that if the complaint cannot be settled amicably and the value of the claims is less than Dhs50,000, an executive ruling will be issued by the legal researcher from the Ministry and implementation will be carried out by the court.
Shaima Al-Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Communication and International Relations, said: Data and information and their ease of availability are among the most important features of advanced economies in the modern era for their role in supporting decision makers and giving them the necessary indicators to develop their economic journey within various business sectors.
