73 Percent More Rainfall Recorded This Year Compared to Last Year

Pakistan is currently facing its fifth monsoon spell this year, which has brought heavy rain and warnings of dangerous weather. According to officials, the country has received 73% more rain than it did at the same time last year. Because of this, many rivers have overflowed, and several cities are experiencing urban flooding.

In Attock, the strong flow of the Indus River was so powerful that it swept away a police checkpoint. This shows how serious the situation has become in some areas.

The government has put all rescue teams on high alert to deal with any emergencies. Travel warnings have also been shared with the public to avoid any accidents. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has advised people, especially those living in Murree, Galyat, and other hilly areas, to avoid travelling unless it is very important.

Heavy rainfall can cause landslides and road blockages in these areas, putting travelers at risk. Authorities have asked people to stay indoors as much as possible and to keep an eye on weather updates.

Officials have also warned that the rains are likely to get even stronger in August, so people should take extra care. They are working to make sure rescue services are ready to help wherever needed.

The public is advised to listen to safety instructions, stay away from flooded areas, and contact rescue helplines if they face any danger. With teamwork and care, Pakistan hopes to reduce the damage and keep people safe during this heavy monsoon season.
