The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has stated that the tropical storm ‘Asna’, which originated in the Arabian Sea, is expected to turn into a tropical depression within a few hours.
Additionally, the NCM has observed a reduction in the storm’s movement speed, from 13 km/h to 10 km/h, and a corresponding decrease in wind speed, from 60 km/h to 45 km/h.
The NCM’s report detailed the indirect impact of the clouds originating from the Arabian Sea on the eastern and southern regions, which may potentially result in precipitation and wave turbulence in the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Gulf. Additionally, there is a possibility of a limited extension of sea water reaching some beaches on the east coast during the high tide period on Sunday and Monday.
It has also asserted that it is monitoring the situation meticulously and is committed to disseminating the most recent updates. Thereby, it urgs the public to adhere to official bulletins and reports, and to refrain from circulating rumours.
In a related context, the NCM has predicted that the weather on Monday will be dusty and partially cloudy, with the potential for precipitation in some eastern and southern areas during the day. Additionally, temperatures are expected to decline, and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate. These winds may occasionally be active, stirring dust and sand, with speeds reaching 15 to 40 km/h. In the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, sea conditions will be turbulent to medium to light waves.
The Tuesday’s weather is likely to be clear to partly cloudy, with the potential for low clouds to form along the eastern coast in the morning. In the afternoon, there is a possibility of the formation of cumulus clouds in the east and south, which may be accompanied by precipitation. Additionally, temperatures are expected to rise, and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate. These winds may occasionally be active and dusty, with speeds reaching 10 to 25 up to 40 km/h. The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Wednesday is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with the exception of the eastern and southern regions, where low clouds are expected to prevail during the morning hours. Winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and may occasionally be active and dusty, reaching speeds of 10 to 25 km/h. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be relatively mild.
The Thursday’s weather will be mostly sunny with some clouds. Low clouds are expected along the east coast in the morning, with the potential for cumulus clouds in the east during the afternoon. There is a chance of rain at night and on Friday morning in some coastal areas. Winds will be from the southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds of up to 25 km/h. The sea in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will be mild.
