DUBAI: US President Donald Trump on Friday thanked Pakistan, its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir shortly after Iran announced to open the Strait of Hormuz for passage of all commercial vessels.
Iran’s foreign minister said on Friday that passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, in line with the ceasefire in Lebanon.
The passage of vessels through the strait will be on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of Iran, Abbas Araqchi added in a post on X.
In response to the announcement by Iran for opening the Strait of Hormuz for passage of commercial vessels, Trump in a social media post said: “Thank you.”
