Pakistan’s IT Exports Increase to Record $342 Million in March 2025

Pakistan’s IT industry achieved a major milestone in March 2025 by earning $342 million (PKR 95.6 billion) in exports. This is a 12% increase compared to the previous month and the same month last year. It also marks the 18th month in a row that the sector has shown growth. The boost is mainly due to strong global demand, recent government reforms, and a stable exchange rate.

During the first nine months of the current financial year (FY2025), Pakistan’s total IT exports have reached $2.8 billion (PKR 783 billion). This is 24% higher than the same period last year.

The government has taken several steps to help this growth, including allowing companies to keep more of their foreign earnings and encouraging investment in global markets. These efforts have helped Pakistani tech companies grow their presence internationally.

Experts believe that if this trend continues, Pakistan’s IT exports could reach $3.7 billion (PKR 1.03 trillion) by the end of FY2025. This strong performance shows the sector’s potential to play a major role in the country’s economy.

Looking ahead, the government has an ambitious plan to increase IT exports to $10 billion (PKR 2.78 trillion) every year by 2029. This target is part of the “Uraan Pakistan” vision, which aims to boost economic growth through technology and innovation.

The recent numbers are a clear sign that Pakistan’s IT industry is on the rise. With ongoing support from the government and increasing demand from global clients, the sector is likely to continue growing, creating more jobs and bringing in valuable foreign exchange for the country.
